Find duplicate images in SharePoint.
Twinsift scans the images in your SharePoint document libraries, finds every copy, rendition, crop and edit of each photo, and tells you which file to keep.
- 99.9%of duplicates found
- 96%+of crops traced to their source
- 0files deleted without your approval
Accuracy measured on a test library of 250,995 files.
Why SharePoint fills up with copies
SharePoint makes copying easy. The same photo is saved to a team site, downloaded and uploaded again to a project site, exported smaller for a presentation and cropped for social media. Each copy gets its own name, folder and version history, and after a year nobody knows which file is the original.
SharePoint search matches names and text, not what an image shows. It can't tell you that campaign_final.jpg on one site is a resized copy of a TIFF on another.
What Twinsift finds
- Duplicates: the same picture saved again in another format, size or quality.
- Renditions: smaller web and thumbnail versions.
- Crops and banners: parts of the photo, found even after colour grading.
- Edits: black and white versions and versions with added text.
Each file is grouped with its original. The original is chosen by what is in the pixels: true resolution first, then format, bit depth, compression and sharpness.
How it connects
Your Microsoft 365 admin registers an app in Microsoft Entra ID and gives it read access to the sites you choose. The rest of the tenant stays out of scope, and nothing is installed on your side.
After the first scan, Twinsift asks Microsoft Graph only for new and changed files, so new copies are caught every day without rescanning the whole library.
What happens to the copies
Nothing changes until you approve a cleanup plan. Only duplicates and renditions can be deleted, never the original. Crops, banners and edits are reported for you to decide on. Write access is only needed on the sites you clean up, and deleted files go to the SharePoint recycle bin, where they can be restored for 93 days.

Questions
Do you need access to our whole Microsoft 365 tenant?
No. Access is limited to the SharePoint sites you choose, and read access is enough for the scan.
Will the scan slow down SharePoint?
Twinsift reads through Microsoft Graph and backs off whenever Microsoft asks it to slow down.
How long does a scan take?
Most libraries are scanned within a day. On very large sites, Microsoft's rate limits can set the pace.

The free scan counts the duplicates, renditions, crops, banners and edits in your library and how much space they take. Read-only access, and nothing in your library changes.
